Client Name: ESG / United States Navy Location: Jacksonville, FL, USA Overview: Solar thermal system with 168 AET flat-plate collectors, designed to replace long-standing steam-fueled heat exchanger. This solar water heating system provides 75% of the energy needed to heat the large training pool inside the building and is supplemented by an energy-efficient natural gas boiler. The installation, part of a larger performance guarantee contract for energy-efficiency improvements, also included the replacement of an existing gravel roof with an energy-saving HydroStop roofing system. Due to scheduling constraints, Florida Solar Services had to conduct the roof replacement and solar installation simultaneously, which presented a unique challenge in terms of logistics and coordination. |
